Naming Ceremony
Their spirit has come to you to be nurtured and developed. The love you shower on this little one will help them grow and become the person they are meant to be. The name you assign will give them strength to be all that is positive in this life.
“Knot Named” is a joyful Celebration of a new life that has joined your family.
It is part of the ceremonies provided by Wedding Knot Ceremonies carried out by Civil Celebrant Merran Strasser. The Knot is our logo and represents the intertconnections of life and those elements essential to sustaining life, life’s blood (red or a pastel tone), life’s growth (green) and life’s sustenance air and water (blue). Just as the Wedding Knot binds the lives of two loving adults, it also binds the lives of parents and the child, and symbolises our bond with the life we leave behind as we move on after death.
If you want to celebrate the arrival of your child into the world Knot Named is the ceremony for you.
For a Knot Named Ceremony you send out invitations to close friends and family, inviting them to the Naming at your home. On the day, your baby may wear a family christening gown, or an outfit given by a special person.
Guardians or mentors may be appointed as part of the ceremony, and each will receive a certificate of appointment. I will create a special ceremony that acknowledges your joy and delight but without ties to any specific religious group.
Family Unity is the ceremony where children from different partners are acknowledged by the new partners as being part of the new family.
For a Family Unity Ceremony you can send out invitations to either have a ceremony at your home or include it in your Wedding. You may want your Wedding just for you and a Family Unity Ceremony to include children later. The ceremony I create for you is unique to your family and can show the child/children they are also important in this relationship.
Funeral Services
Their spirit is free from the shell we knew as their body.
Although you will miss them, you will always have the legacy of all they accomplished,
be that great or small. As you learn to live again grow from the positive marks they made on your life.
Knot Forgotten is in the form of a memorial service to reflect on the input and impact the deceased has had on the individual family members and friends. You may wish to speak, I can read for you or prepare a reflection of the information you give me at our meeting. You may like to invite guests to speak briefly of how they were influenced by your loved one, often this reveals information even you were unaware of and helps all in the loss they feel.
Whether you have a service in the chapels at the Crematorium or by the graveside I can lead the farewell and have a PA for the words you want said at the graveside to be heard.
From the age of 17 I have experienced my own special people passing on so I have understanding of the emotions you and your family are going through. I will enable your words to be spoken to your friends and family and bring calm order to a service that will reflect your wishes as you farewell them.
